Boys robbed of bikes by teens in park

THREE boys were robbed of their bikes as they cycled in Page Park, Staple Hill.

Police are asking for help in tracking down the stolen bikes and the muggers, who were older than the 11 to 13-year-old victims.

They have also issued a picture of one of the stolen bikes in the hope that someone may recognise it.

The robbery happened at about 5.15pm on Thursday of last week.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesperson said: “A group of boys aged between 11 and 13 were cycling in the park when three older boys came up to them.
“The older boys took three bicycles off the younger ones, pushing one of them. No one was hurt but officers are investigating the incident as a robbery.
“The boys did the right thing by flagging down a patrolling police car and reporting the incident immediately.

The officers contacted their parents and searched the area for the offenders, with no trace of them.”

The suspects were in their late teens and were wearing black padded jackets, with their faces covered.
The stolen bikes were:

*A red and luminous green Voodoo Hoodoo mountain bike with a green saddle (pictured)

*A bright yellow and green Diamond Back mountain bike with red handlebars.

*A silver Mafia Bomma mountain bike, with rear pegs covered with blue tape, a suede saddle and white slick tyres.

Anyone who has seen the stolen bikes or thinks they know who robbed the boys should call the police on 101, quoting crime reference number 5220 019 097.
