Coalpit Heath neighbours win lottery windfall
FIVE residents of a street in Coalpit Heath have won a cash windfall of £1,000 each in a fundraising lottery.
The residents of Roundways landed the windfall when BS36 2LU was announced as a People’s Postcode Lottery winner today.
People's Postcode Lottery is a subscription lottery which raises money for charities.
Players sign up, enter their postcode and pay £10 per month to take part.
They are automatically entered into a draw every day of the month, ranging from £10 to a share in a £3 million monthly draw.
There are £1,000 daily jackpots, such as the one won by the Roundways residents.
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
They include development charity ActionAid, which promoted today’s draw and has received more than £8.4 million in funding to change the lives of disadvantaged women and children all over the world.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson said: “A big congratulations to everyone. I hope they celebrate and enjoy spending the cash.”
