Frampton Cotterell teenager among six people charged over illegal rave in Yate
A TEENAGER from Frampton Cotterell is among six people due to appear in court next week in connection with an illegal rave in Yate.
Avon and Somerset police today published details of the latest legal action in relation to the event on the Stover Trading Estate (above), which was attended by an estimated 700 people.
Five people are summonsed to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court next Tuesday, including 18-year-old Josh Samson, of Frampton Cotterell, who faces charges of obstructing police and failing to leave the land when requested.
Bristol man Oliver Eavis (24), faces identical charges, as do George Packham (28), from Ripley in Derbyshire, George Parsons (18), from Ugborough in Devon, and Ashley Waker (26), from Witney in Oxfordshire.
Another defendant, Jerin Nixon (23), from Newent in Gloucestershire, was due in court today to face charges of assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage and failing.
Police have already given out fines of £10,000 to two people for their part in organising the event, in breach of COVID-19 regulations, and 13 others have been fined £200 for attending a large gathering under the restrictions in place at the time.
Police are continuing to appeal for help in identifying 37 people they want to question about the incident, with images on the police website.
They have asked anyone who can help their investigation to call 101 and quote the crime reference number 5220 247 128.
