FRAMPTON Cotterell Women's Institute has become the envy of Great British Bake Off fans across the nation after a visit from a very special guest – 2021 series winner Giuseppe Dell'Anno.

Giuseppe was the Bristol area's first winner of the Great British Bake Off and was chief engineer at the National Composites Centre, at the Bristol and Bath Science Park in Emersons Green, before heading to the Bake Off tent.

He won last year's Bake Off after a nerve-shredding final with Crystelle Pereira and Chigs Parmar after the early favourite, Jurgen Krauss, was eliminated in the semi-final.

The final drew in almost 11 million viewers on Channel 4 and its All4 catch-up service.

Frampton Cotterell WI were able to swing the talk and a Q&A from Giuseppe at St Peter’s Hall on June 21 thanks to a personal connection.

A spokesperson for the group said: "Giuseppe lives just outside of Bath and, thanks to a personal contact within our group, we were treated to a talk and given the opportunity to ask questions about his time on the show.

"It was quite a coup for our WI and a great way to help celebrate our 70th anniversary this year."
