Inspector allows houses to be built on Woodlands Farm

An inspector has approved an application for 215 homes at Woodlands Farm following an appeal from Barret and David Wilson Homes.

The housebuilders went to appeal after they were refused permission to develop the site in Coalpit Heath by South Gloucestershire council.

At the August hearing local campaigners from VALID spoke out against the development alongside Juliet King Smith, the daughter of the author Dick King Smith whose novels were inspired the fields of Woodlands Farm.

Barret Homes says the approved plans for the land by Park Lane retain ‘large areas of public open space’.

The inspector allowed the appeal in a detailed decision which had 72 points.
