Come and join Sodbury and Yate Business Association

A BUSINESS association is calling for new companies to come forward to join their ranks and to put people forward for executive roles.

The Sodbury and Yate Business Association is a network of over 35 local businesses, including many from the Frome Valley area.

The association’s Annual General Meeting takes place at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex on Monday February 11, between 5.30pm and 7pm.

Peter Huish, the outgoing chair, said: “We have worked hard to make the executive roles comfortable for members to step in to and step out from each year.

I am therefore looking for members new and old to join and participate in taking SYBA forward, safe in the knowledge that support and help will be available to each new role.”

The association meets once in a month in Yate and gives members the chance to touch base and catch up on news and views from the wider community.

As well as regular networking and social events, the SYBA campaigns on issues that affect the local community and support local charities. Last year they raised over £2,000 for BUST and this year, they are raising funds to support the work taking place at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex.

SYBA collaborates with the South Glos Council Economic Development team and receives funding from Small Business Saturday.
